Cowboys trade Carpenter to Rams

The Dallas Cowboys finalized a trade which sends linebacker Bobby Carpenter to St. Louis in exchange for offensive tackle Alex Barron.

Carpenter, who was the Cowboys’ 1st Round pick in 2006, never played to the potential Dallas expected.   He never even got respect from the fans after Bill Parcells referred to him as “Barbie”.   Carpenter never did much to get away from that tag, with his long blond locks flowing out of his helmet.  Carpenter’s best outings came at the end of the 2009 season in games against Philadelphia.  Apparently, it was too little, too late for his time in Dallas.

Barron comes to Dallas as insurance after the release of Flozell Adams.  Barron should fit right into Adams’ shoes, since Barron led the league in holding penalties.  He also had 5 false starts.

Hopefully this trade will benefit all.  The two former 1st round draft picks will both get a chance to revive their career, while both organizations will have a chance to infuse new blood into critical positions.
