Dallas Stars fall to Ducks in OT

The Dallas Stars lost 4-3 to the Anaheim Ducks in overtime Wednesday night.  Five of the last 11 contests between these two clubs have been decided by just one goal.

The Stars ended their longest home stand of the season with a 2-2-3 record. It was their longest home stand since Feb. 20-March 7, 2004 when the Stars played in eight consecutive at home (7-0-1 record in that span).

Trevor Daley scored his third goal in his last eight games (3 goals), and his eighth overall of the season. The Stars have earned points in 11-straight games dating back to last season when he scores a goal (10-0-1).

Alex Goligoski netted his third goal as a Dallas Star, and his second goal in consecutive games for the first time this season. The last time Goligoski had a goal streak of two games or more was Oct. 24-30, 2009 when he recorded a goal in three-straight games (3 goals).

Loui Eriksson recorded his 24th goal of the season tonight. He has points in three of his last four games (1 goal, 2 assists).

Brad Richards earned his 18th multi-point game with his two assists tonight. The Stars have a 15-2-3 record this season when he accomplishes that feat.

Jamie Benn’s 10-game scoring streak came to an end (8 goals, 6 assists). Coming into tonight’s contest, it was the longest active point streak in the NHL.

Mike Ribeiro has registered at least one point in three of his last four games (1 goal, 4 assists), and in 12 of his last 16 overall (6 goals, 11 assists). It was his 15th multi-point game of the season.

Dallas will play against the Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena on Saturday night.
