Feldman Falters In Rangers Loss

Scott Feldman, pitching in place of Alexi Ogando, struggled against the Rays, the very team he beat last week.  Feldman gave up 4 runs in 5 innings as the Rays beat the Rangers 5-1 in Tropicana Field.

Feldman’s troubles came mostly in the 4th inning, as he walked 3 out of the first 4 batters.  All three scored.

The Texas offense was held in check by Rays starter James Shields.  Shields pitched the complete game, giving up just 4 hits.  Elvis Andrus was the only Ranger with success at the plate, going 2 for 3 and scoring the only Texas run.

Texas is clinging to the lead in the AL West over the LA Angels, who are hosting the Mariners tonight.
