Kershaw Named 2012 U.S. Olympic Manager

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (SMU) – SMU assistant swim coach Andy Kershaw has been named Team Manager for the 2012 United States Men’s Olympic Swim Team, pending final approval by the USOC Board of Directors. Kershaw will also serve the same role for the 2011 World Championships in July in Shanghai, China.

“This is truly a tremendous honor and one that I will cherish for a lifetime,” Kershaw said. “I look forward to working with the great people that represent our country’s swim team.”

In his eight seasons with the Mustangs, Kershaw has led his team to seven conference championships and 37 All-America honors. Prior to his time on the Hilltop, he was an assistant coach for his alma matter, Ohio University, from 1999-2003.

Kershaw was also the US Team Manager at the Pan Pacific Games in August as well as the Duel in the Pool competition in Manchester, England in December 2009.

The 2012 Summer Olympics are July 27 – Aug. 12 in London, England.
