The Dallas Mavericks fell to the Los Angeles Lakers 73-70 on a 3-pointer by Lakers guard Derek Fisher with 3.1 seconds remaining at the Staples Center on Monday night.

The Mavericks held Kobe Bryant to just 14 points in the game, after scoring 40 or more in each of the previous 4.  Neither team could take a lead larger than 7 points in the game.  Dallas held the Lakers to their fewest points since 2002.

Dallas forward Dirk Nowitzki led all scorers with 21, 15 coming in the 2nd half.  Former Laker Lamar Odom came off the bench for 10 points, the only other Maverick in double-digits.  Ian Mahinmi scored 9 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Mavericks.

The Mavericks stay in Los Angeles to play the Clippers on Wednesday.
