Mavs Win In Phoenix

The Dallas Mavericks handed the Phoenix Suns their 5th straight loss Thursday night with a 97-94 win in Arizona.

The Mavericks, who lost by 22 to the Clippers the night before, blew a 10-point 4th quarter lead when O.J. Mayo sank a 21-footer to take the lead for good.

Mayo led the game with 23 points.  Darren Collison and Brandan Wright each came off the bench to score 16 points.  Chris Kaman scored 15 from the bench and Shawn Marion was the only other starter in double-figures with 10 points.

“Everybody played with a lot of heart,” said Dallas coach Rick Carlisle. “A lot of guts. It was really a war of attrition out there with the injuries and all the stuff going on. Everybody hung in and we found a way and it’s a huge win for us.”

Marion (groin) and Kaman (ankle) left the game with injuries.  It is unclear if they will be ready to play Saturday against the Rockets in Houston.
