Rangers Beat Tigers

The Texas Rangers took the final game of the home series against the Detroit Tigers 8-3 on Sunday.
Starting pitcher Yu Darvish went 6 2/3 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits. Darvish struck out 8.
The Rangers got on the board early when Josh Hamilton hit a 2-run homer off Tigers starter Rick Porcello. It was Hamilton’s 32nd home run of the season, the most in the Major League.
Texas added 3 more runs in the 3rd inning to pad the lead. Hamilton added an RBI single to give him a league-high 99 on the year.
The Rangers take the best record in the league into a 4-game series with the Yankees beginning Monday. Texas holds a 6 1/2 game lead for the AL West.
