Rangers Take Another From Angels

The Texas Rangers used a 2-run single by Ian Kinsler in the 8th inning to defeat the L.A. Angels 4-3 Wednesday night in Anaheim.

With the game tied at 2 and the bases loaded, Kinsler hit a broken-bat single to left field which scored Nelson Cruz and Mike Napoli for the go-ahead runs.  “We were getting men on base all night and couldn’t get through to him,” said Kinsler. “That was our opportunity, we had to come through and we got it done.”  It was Kinsler’s only hit in the last 10 at-bats.

Texas scattered 12 hits throughout the game, including a solo home run by Mitch Moreland.

Starting pitcher C.J. Wilson went 7 innings, giving up 2 runs on 5 hits for his 12th win of the year.  Neftali Feliz earned his 24th save.

The Rangers have now won 6 in a row, and 11 of the last 13.  They hold a 7 game lead over the Angels for the AL West and will try to close out the road series with a sweep tonight.
