Red Sox Run Over Rangers

The Boston Red Sox scored early and often against Texas Rangers pitcher Colby Lewis en route to a 11-5 win in Arlington.

Lewis gave up 6 runs in the first 3 innings, 7 overall as Rangers’ manager Ron Washington left him in for 6 innings.  Relievers Darren Oliver and Mark Lowe each gave up another 2 runs each over the next 2 innings as Boston racked up 14 total hits.

Texas was limited to 8 hits, including home runs by Josh Hamilton and Ian Kinsler.

The Rangers lead over the Angels has shrunk to 3 1/2 games after the Angels defeated the White Sox Tuesday night.  Texas will host the Red Sox for 2 more games before the Angels come to the Ballpark for a weekend series.
