DALLAS (SMU) – Lauren Moore, a junior on the SMU rowing team, has been invited to participate at USRowing’s William Smith Sculling Development Camp, which will be held June 10-14 on the Cayuga-Seneca Canal in Geneva, N.Y. Moore is one of 10 rowers from across the country invited to participate in the national camp.

For the Mustangs, Moore competes with the 1st Varsity 8+ crew, racing to wins over Creighton and Kansas State this season. She spent time during the past two summers sculling at White Rock Lake, and the Southlake native went on to earn medals at the Stars and Stripes and Head of the Oklahoma regattas during her first year.

At the camp, Moore and the other athletes will practice on the water twice a day, working on technique, aerobic and anaerobic condition, as well as race and regatta preparation. The athletes will also be able to attend USRowing team lectures. At the conclusion of the camp, Moore will have the opportunity to compete at the U23 Trials, the Independence Day Regatta and the Club Nationals.

Moore and SMU will compete at the Conference USA Championships Saturday in Oak Ridge, Tenn. Each crew will race a preliminary heat in the morning, with the championship finals scheduled for Saturday afternoon.
