Top players begin to commit to HP Byron Nelson Championship

Irving, TX, Mar. 24, 2011 –Matt Kuchar, Jamie Lovemark and Scott Verplank have officially committed to play in the 2011 HP Byron Nelson Championship.

 Matt Kuchar, who is ranked No. 9 in the Official World Golf Rankings, will be looking to claim his fourth PGA TOUR victory. Kuchar is No. 11 in the race for the FedExCup and is ranked No. 5 in Scoring Average. His best 2011 finish on the PGA TOUR was No. 3 at the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship.

 Jamie Lovemark, now 23, was the youngest player in Nationwide Tour history to win the money title when he was 22. Lovemark’s best finish on the PGA TOUR was T2 at the Frys.com Open in 2009.

 Scott Verplank, 2007 champion and local favorite, has five PGA TOUR victories under his belt. Verplank claimed five top-10 finishes in 2010, and his best finish this year was T29 at the Mayakoba Golf Classic at Riviera Maya-Cancun.

 The 2011 HP Byron Nelson Championship will be played Memorial Day weekend, May 23-29, at the TPC Four Seasons Resort Las Colinas in Irving.
