Opening round upsets were in order Tuesday at the yp Challenger of Dallas. Top seed Ryan Sweeting lost to qualifier Carsten Ball in straight sets. The primetime match saw No. 3 Sam Querrey fall in straight sets to Alex Kuznetsov.
2nd seed Steve Darcis is the highest remaining player, defeating Fritz Wolmarans.
