The Texas Rangers got their 15th shutout of the season Monday night with a 4-0 win over the Boston Red Sox.  It is the most shutouts for the Rangers in 34 years.

C.J. Wilson earned his 13th win of the season with 6 2/3 shutout innings, giving up just 4 hits.  Wilson was happy to be back in Arlington after a 10-game road trip, “We had a great road trip, but we kind of sputtered at the end,” said Wilson. “To come back home … to pitch well against a good team, to get some runs, it’s a big deal. I’m happy with the game for a lot of reasons, but getting a win and getting a shutout for the team was big.”

The Texas offense was led by Mike Napoli, who hit a 3-run homer in the 6th inning.   Each of the first 6 batters in the lineup had a hit in the game.

Texas is 4 1/2 games ahead of the Angels in the AL West.  The homestand continues tonight against the Red Sox before starting a series with the Angels on Friday.
