Rangers get another sweep
|The Texas Ranges sweep the short series with the Orioles with another offensive burst. The Rangers had 20 hits, the most of the season, with Nelson Cruz getting 4 of them. Cruz set the pace with a 3-run homer in the 1st to kick start the Rangers. By the end of the 4th inning, Texas had built an 8-3 lead and were not finished.
Matt Treanor capped a 5-run 8th inning with a 3-run shot over the left field wall to ice the game.
Rangers starting pitcher Scott Feldman went 6 innings, aided by the points put up by his teammates. Feldman gave up 12 hits, but got his first win of the season while giving a break to the overworked bullpen. “I gave up a lot of hits but fortunately we swung the bats really well,” said Feldman. “This was all about the offense putting up runs.”
Texas has won 4 in a row and now have a 4 game lead over Oakland in the AL West.
