FLAGG AND UJIRI NAMED TO TIME’S INAUGURAL TIME100 SPORTS LIST

DALLAS – Dallas Mavericks forward Cooper Flagg and President Masai Ujiri have been named to TIME’s inaugural 2026 TIME100 Sports list, recognizing 100 of the most influential figures shaping the global sports landscape.

Flagg and Ujiri are among a select group of honorees celebrated for their impact on and off the court, joining some of the most recognizable and influential figures in sports worldwide.

Flagg earned the recognition following one of the most decorated rookie seasons in NBA history.

The No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft earned the 2025-26 Kia NBA Rookie of the Year Award after averaging 21.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.2 steals per game, becoming the first rookie since Michael Jordan in 1984–85 to lead his team in total points, rebounds, assists and steals.

The Newport, Maine, native was also a unanimous selection to the Kia NBA All-Rookie First Team.

Prior to joining the Mavericks, Flagg starred at Duke University, where he was named National Player of the Year and led the Blue Devils to the Final Four.

Ujiri was recognized for his transformative impact on professional basketball and his longstanding commitment to growing the game globally.

The Mavericks named Ujiri Team President and Alternate Governor on May 4, 2026, bringing one of the NBA’s most respected executives to Dallas.

During his front-office career, Ujiri has helped build championship-caliber organizations and played a pivotal role in the Toronto Raptors’ historic 2019 NBA Championship.

Beyond basketball operations, Ujiri is widely regarded as one of the sport’s most influential global ambassadors.

Through Giants of Africa, the nonprofit organization he founded in 2003, Ujiri has helped create opportunities for thousands of young people across the African continent through basketball, education and leadership development programs.

A former NBA Executive of the Year recipient with the Denver Nuggets in 2013, Ujiri has spent decades helping expand basketball’s global reach while championing opportunity and inclusion throughout the sport.
