Cowboys-Giants is Most-Watched NFL Regular Season Game Ever

The Dallas Cowboys 28-20 win over the New York Giants on Thanksgiving Day on FOX now ranks as the most-watched regular season game on any network on record with 42 million viewers.

The most-watched regular season game previously belonged to the New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers’ match-up on “Monday Night Football” on ABC in Dec. 1990 with 41.474 million viewers.
The top five viewership markets for the game were: Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, Kansas City and Las Vegas.
Dallas had 24.5 million viewers and a 69 share while New York had 11.2 million viewers and a 38 share.
This year’s Cowboys game is up +49% over last year’s game on FOX and up +3% over last year’s comparable window.
In addition to the record audience for FOX’s afternoon window, the Buffalo Bills’ victory over the Detroit Lions delivered the most-watched early Thanksgiving Day game on any network on record.
The game averaged 31.627 million viewers, up +12% from last year’s comparable game window, and is CBS’ most-watched game of the season.
