Cowboys Send 4 To Pro Bowl

FRISCO, Texas – The Cowboys’ vaunted run game will be well-represented at the Pro Bowl next month.

That’s mainly made up of their offensive line, as Tyron Smith, Travis Frederick all earned selections. Fittingly, the guy they block for was also chosen, as Ezekiel Elliott was also selected for the game.
This is becoming a bit of a tradition at this point. The Cowboys annually field one of the best offensive lines in football, and a big part of that is their trio of perennial Pro Bowlers – who have now combined for 18 Pro Bowl bids.

This year marks his seventh-straight selection to the Pro Bowl, as he hasn’t missed out on the honor since he initially earned it back in 2013. That number pushes him past Rayfield Wright for most appearances by an offensive tackle in franchise history.

Frederick missed the 2018 season after being diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome last summer, but he rebounded to earn his fifth Pro Bowl selection this year. That ties him with Andre Gurode for the most Pro Bowl appearances by a center in Cowboys history.

(Photo by George Walker/DFWsportsonline)Martin is in the rarefied air of being selected to the Pro Bowl in every year of his NFL career. Since entering the NFL in 2014, Martin has been a Pro Bowler in all six of his professional seasons.
This will mark Elliott’s third trip to the Pro Bowl in his four seasons. He currently sits fifth in the NFL in rushing yards with 1,188, and he’s got 11 rushing touchdowns to go with that.
With injuries and Super Bowl absences sure to be a factor, it’s a good bet that other members of the roster could wind up in the Pro Bowl. Dak Prescott is second in the league with 4,334 passing yards, and Amari Cooper currently has 1,073 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. Both could be alternate options to fill in for absentees.
This year’s Pro Bowl will be played Sunday, Jan. 26 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Fla.
