Dallas Mavericks Acquire Zaccharie Risacher

DALLAS – The Dallas Mavericks announced today that they have acquired former No. 1 overall pick Zaccharie Risacher and a top-55 protected 2027 second-round pick from the Atlanta Hawks as part of a three-team trade also involving the Oklahoma City Thunder.

In the deal, the Mavericks sent guard Ryan Nembhard to the Hawks and a 2027 second-round pick (via Chicago) to the Thunder.

Risacher (6-9, 215) holds career averages of 11.1 points (.457 FG%, .360 3FG%), 3.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.8 steals and 23.6 minutes per game in 142 games (119 starts) with Atlanta.

He reached 1,000 career points at 20 years, 210 days old, becoming the fourth-youngest player in Hawks history to reach the milestone.

Risacher was named to the 2024-25 NBA All-Rookie First Team after averaging 12.6 points (.458 FG%, .355 3FG%, .711 FT%), 3.6 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 24.6 minutes in 75 games (73 starts). He scored 30-or-more points four times in 2024-25, the most by any rookie that year.

Against the Brooklyn Nets on April 10, 2025, he tallied a career-high 38 points on 15-of-20 shooting, the most points scored by a rookie in 2024-25.

Additionally, in two of his 30-point games, Risacher did so without committing a single turnover, becoming the first teenager to record multiple 30-point, zero-turnover games in a single season.

The 21-year-old represented France in the 2025 EuroBasket, averaging 9.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 17.5 minutes in six games with the French senior national team. At the youth national level, Risacher helped France win the silver medal at the 2023 FIBA U-19 World Cup and the bronze medal at the 2022 FIBA U-17 World Cup.

Prior to entering the NBA, Risacher played for JL Bourg, where he earned the 2023-24 French League Best Young Player award and was twice named the French LNB Pro A Best Young Player of the Month. Additionally, he was named the 2024 EuroCup Rising Star.

Nembhard (6-0, 180) averaged 6.6 points (.415 FG%, .356 3FG%, .806 FT%), 2.2 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 19.5 minutes in 60 games (27 starts) as an undrafted rookie in 2025-26.
