Dallas Mavericks Announce 2024-25 Season Schedule

The Dallas Mavericks announced their 2024-25 schedule today, which tips off at home against Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday, Oct. 24, at 6:30 p.m. CT on TNT. It will mark the second straight year that Dallas will open the season against division-rival San Antonio.

The 2024-25 campaign will mark the 45th season in Mavericks history, including the club’s 24th playing at American Airlines Center. Dallas is currently scheduled to play 30 nationally televised games, including nine on TNT, nine on ESPN, seven on NBA TV and five on ABC. The team’s local broadcast schedule will be announced at a later date.

After opening the year against the Spurs at home, the Mavericks will travel to the Valley of the Sun to face Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 9 p.m. CT.

Seven of the team’s first nine games will be played at home, followed by a stretch of 11-of-15 on the road. The team has two season-long five-game homestands (Oct. 31 to Nov. 8, Feb. 8 to 21) as well as a season-long five-game road trip (Jan. 29 to Feb. 6).

The NBA Cup 2024, the NBA’s second annual in-season competition, will tip off on Tuesday, Nov. 12 in team markets and culminate with the Semifinals (Saturday, Dec. 14) and Championship (Tuesday, Dec. 17) taking place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Dallas will open Group Play on the road against Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors on Nov. 12 at 9 p.m. CT on TNT, in what will mark Klay Thompson’s return to the Chase Center.

During Group Play, the Mavericks will also face Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans at American Airlines Center (Nov. 19), Nikola Jokić and the Denver Nuggets on the road (Nov. 22), and Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies at home (Dec. 3).

In a rematch of the 2024 Western Conference Finals, the Mavericks will host Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves for a Christmas Day matinee matchup at American Airlines Center at 1:30 p.m. CT on ABC. It will mark the fifth consecutive year that Dallas will play on Christmas. Minnesota will also visit Dallas on Jan. 22 for a 6:30 p.m. CT game on ESPN. LeBron James and the L.A. Lakers will make two trips to American Airlines Center in 2023-24 (Jan. 7 and April 9). Denver (Jan. 12 and 14) and Phoenix (Nov. 8 and March 9) will also visit Dallas twice this season. Golden State will make its lone trip to American Airlines Center on Feb. 12 at 8:30 p.m. CT on ESPN.

The Mavericks are scheduled to play a season-high 16 games in both January and March. Dallas is slated to play 13 back-to-backs, five of which are home-to-road, four of which begin and end on the road, two of which begin and end at home, and one of which is road-to-home. Four of the back-to-backs also don’t require any travel. 

In a rematch of the 2024 NBA Finals, the defending NBA champion Boston Celtics will visit Dallas on Jan. 25 for a 4:30 p.m. CT matinee game on ABC.

Other notable matchups against Eastern Conference teams at American Airlines Center include meetings with Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks (Nov. 27), Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks (March 1), and Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers (March 16).
