DALLAS, TX – The Dallas Mavericks announced today that they will select ninth overall after the results of this afternoon’s NBA Draft Lottery presented by State Farm.
It will be the fifth time in franchise history the Mavericks have selected ninth overall in the NBA Draft and mark the first time Dallas has selected in the top 10 in consecutive years since 2017 and 2018.
Dallas has had the ninth overall pick four other times in franchise history, selecting Dennis Smith Jr. out of N.C. State in the 2017 NBA Draft most recently.
The Mavericks also selected with the ninth overall pick, Rolando Blackman in 1981, Dale Ellis in 1983 and Samaki Walker in 1996.
The 2026 NBA Draft will be held on Tuesday, June 23, and Wednesday, June 24, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
The first round will air on ABC, ESPN and the ESPN App, and the second round will air on ESPN and the ESPN App. Coverage for both nights will begin at 7 p.m. CT on ESPN platforms.
