DALLAS, Texas – The Dirk Nowitzki Foundation (DNF) today announced the celebrity participants for its eighth annual DNF Tennis Classic, taking place Saturday, Sept. 19 at Banner House at T Bar M in Dallas.
Joining Dirk Nowitzki for an afternoon of exhibition-style tennis are Steve Nash, John Isner, DeMarcus Ware, Peja Stojakovic, Mark Knowles, Devin Harris, Michael Bennett, and Boris Kodjoe—making for an unforgettable day of competitive play, star power, and community spirit, all in support of a great cause.
“Every year, I’m amazed by the friends who are willing to come out, compete and have some fun for a cause that means so much to me,” said Nowitzki. “We have a great group joining us this year, and while everyone wants to win, the real purpose is helping children across North Texas get the support and opportunities they deserve. That’s what makes this event so special.”
As the foundation’s largest annual fundraiser, the Tennis Classic directs 100% of proceeds to North Texas nonprofits that provide critical programs in children’s well-being, health, and education.
Fans can look forward to high-energy matches, gourmet bites, and an electric atmosphere as sports legends take the court for a purpose.
The Dirk Nowitzki Foundation has awarded more than $400,000 in grants to support its community partners. The foundation has also partnered with H-E-B, Mrs. Baird’s Bread and Heroes Foundation to distribute more than $250,000 worth of groceries and household staples to Dallas County families and neighbors in need.
Additionally, DNF continues its decades-long partnership with Children’s Medical Center, where Dirk surprises patients with gifts and one-on-one visits to lift spirits and fulfill wishes.
