FC Dallas Rallies For Win In Orlando

Orlando, FL (May 28, 2022) – FC Dallas (7-3-4, 25 points) rallied from a 1-0 halftime deficit to beat Orlando City SC 3-1 (6-5-3, 21 points) thanks to a second-half brace from Paul Arriola and a goal from Franco Jara on Saturday night at Exploria Stadium. 
 

GAME SUMMARY
First Half:

  • 8’ – SHOT (DAL) – Paul Arriola played a ball into Alan Velasco whose long range effort went high over the crossbar of the goal defended by Pedro Gallese.
  • 16’ – SHOT (DAL) – Velasco found Arriola on the wing and he attempted a left-footed low driven shot that was saved by Gallese. 
  • 28’ – CHANCE (DAL) – Arriola and Jesús Ferreira link up in the box and his cross towards Velasco was cut out by Robin Jansson.
  • 45’+1’ – SAVE (DAL) – Mauricio Pereyra’s shot from the outside of the box was pushed over the goal by Maarten Paes for a corner kick. 
  • 45’+4’ – GOAL (ORL) – Ercan Kara was able to redirect the ball with his head to score and give Orlando the 1-0 lead, following a free kick cross from Pereyra.

Second Half:

  • 56’ – SHOT (DAL) – Facundo Quignon attempted a half-volley at the edge of the box but his shot went wide right.
  • 59’ – SAVE (ORL) – Kara’s bicycle kick was heading to the bottom left corner but Paes was able to keep it out.
  • 67’ – GOAL (DAL) – Franco Jara’s cross from the right side was met by Arriola who smashed it past Gallese to tie the match at 1-1.
  • 70’ – GOAL (DAL) – Ferreira’s through ball fell into the path of Jara who chipped Gallese to score and give FC Dallas the 2-1 lead after coming on as a sub.
  • 84’ – GOAL (DAL) – Arriola snuck his shot in the bottom right corner past Gallese to extend FC Dallas’ lead to 3-1.
