Former Longhorn Leads USA Volleyball To Olympic Win

In a rematch of the 2008 Olympic Games gold-medal match, the U.S. knocked off Brazil, 3-1, on Monday (July 30). Destinee Hooker, former Texas Longhorn, led the team with 23 points with 22 spikes and one block. The U.S. women only dropped the third set (22-25), while winning the first, second and fourth to clinch the victory (25-18, 25-17, 25-21). The team improved to 2-0 with six points in Pool B play, and takes on third-seeded China (2-0) at Earls Court on Wednesday.
