KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship Announces 156-Player Field

FRISCO, Texas – The 2023 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship announced today the full 156-player field for the inaugural Major Championship played on Fields Ranch East at PGA Frisco. 

This year’s field features 11 past KitchenAid Senior PGA Champions including the defending champion, Steven Alker. Others to have won the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship include: Michael Allen (2009), Paul Broadhurst (2018), Alex Cejka (2021), Roger Chapman (2012), Jay Haas (2006, 2008), Bernhard Langer (2017), Tom Lehman (2010), Rocco Mediate (2016), Colin Montgomerie (2014, 2015), and Ken Tanigawa (2019).

Some of the game’s biggest names will be making the trip to PGA Frisco, including 25 major champions, 13 former Ryder Cup captains (eight from Europe, five from the United States), and nine World Golf Hall of Fame members. 

Players in the 156-player field will represent 23 countries and 28 states, including 10 from Texas. Along with the United States, other countries represented include: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, England, Fiji, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Republic of Korea, Scotland, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, and Wales.

The Senior PGA Championship was born in 1937 on the grounds of Augusta National Golf Club. Since then, famed champions such as Sam Snead, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson, Lee Trevino, Raymond Floyd and Colin Montgomerie have hoisted the Alfred S. Bourne Trophy.
