LPGA Texas To Hold High School and College Qualifier

The Volunteers of America LPGA Texas Classic High School and College Qualifier will return this year, offering an opportunity for aspiring golfers to compete for three exemption spots into the field of the official LPGA tournament. The Qualifier will take place at Old American Golf Club in The Colony, Texas on Monday, March 26, 2018.

To qualify, players must be a female high school or college student with a verifiable handicap of 2.0 or less. Players must submit a biography including their personal golf history such as tournament finishes, rankings and notable golf accolades. The Volunteers of America LPGA Texas Classic Amateur Selection Committee will then select 100 females with additional alternates to compete for the three exemption spots into the Tournament. The first, second and third place finishers will fill those exemption spots. Applications and bios must be submitted to Kristy.Nutt@octagon.com by 5:00 p.m. CST Friday, March 2. Players selected will be notified on Monday, March 5 by 5:00 p.m. CST.

Going on its sixth year, the Volunteers of America LPGA Texas Classic will return April 30 – May 6, 2018. 144 of the world’s best female golfers will compete in a four-day stroke-play event, vying for a $1.3 million purse.
