Mavs Sign Draft Picks Josh Green and Tyler Bey

The Dallas Mavericks announced today that they have signed first round pick Josh Green. The team also announced that have signed rookie guard Tyler Bey to a two-way contract.

Green (6-6, 210) was selected 18th overall by Dallas in the 2020 NBA Draft following his freshman season at the University of Arizona.

He started all 30 games in which he appeared for the Wildcats and averaged 12.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.5 steals per game. Green ranked sixth in the PAC-12 in steals last season.

The Sydney native led IMG Academy (Bradenton, Florida) to the 2019 high school national championship while garnering McDonald’s All-American honors.

Green will wear No. 8 for Dallas.

Bey (6-7, 216) was selected after his junior season at Colorado by the 76ers in the second round (36th overall pick) of the 2020 NBA Draft.

His draft rights were acquired by Dallas along with guard Josh Richardson from Philadelphia in exchange for guard Seth Curry.

As a sophomore, Bey was named First Team All-Pac 12 and the Pac-12 Most Improved Player. As a junior, he averaged 13.8 points (.530 FG%, .419 3FG%), 9.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.0 blocks while garnering Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year and Second Team All-Pac 12 honors for the Buffaloes.

The Las Vegas native will wear No. 2 for Dallas. He would become the first Colorado alum to appear in an NBA game for the Mavericks.
