Nyakundi Scores 27 As SMU Defeats UAPB 64-55

TULSA, Okla. (AP) – Robert Nyakundi scored a season-high 27 points Tuesday night to lead SMU to a 64-55 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
London Giles had 12 points and Jeremiah Samarrippas scored 10 for the Mustangs in a game that was part of the NIT Season Tip-Off tournament.
Nyakundi was 8 for 9 from the field, 4 for 5 from 3-point range, for SMU (3-3).
Savalace Townsend led the Golden Lions (1-3) with 22 points. Mitchell Anderson added 12 points and 11 rebounds for UALR, which outrebounded the Mustangs 39-27. SMU went 23 for 29 from the free-throw line, led by Nyakundi going 7 for 9, while the Golden Lions were just 5 for 11 in free throws.
