The Rangers selected 3B Josh Jung from Texas Tech with the 8th pick of the 2019 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft tonight.
Powerfully built at 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds, Jung generates good power from his lower half and drives the ball with ease. His strength should enable him to remain a corner infielder moving forward.
The two-time All-American was named the 2019 Big 12 Co-Player of the Year after batting .340 with 11 homers and 53 RBIs in 57 games.
