DALLAS (SMU) – The red-hot SMU Mustangs are calling for a “RED OUT” for Saturday’s SMU-UCF football game. Fans attending the game are asked to wear red to show support for the Mustangs as they host the Knights in a rematch of the 2010 Conference USA Championship Game.

SMU enters the big game riding a four-game win streak including a win over 20th-ranked TCU. SMU is receiving votes in both the USA Today Coaches’ and AP Polls, rating 34th in the Coaches’ Poll and 36th in the AP rankings. The Mustangs’ Run & Shoot seems to be rounding into form, rolling up over 1,500 yards of total offense over the last three games. In the three contests, Zach Line has rushed for eight TDs and the SMU passing attack has thrown nearly 1,000 yards.

The pregame will also include a performance of the National Anthem by Hawaiian music superstar Henry Kapono, who many Mustang fans will remember as the halftime performer at the 2009 Sheraton Hawaii Bowl.

Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. For tickets, call the SMU Ticket Office at 214-SMU-GAME. Fans can ask for the SMU’s $40.33 “Iron Skillet Special,” a four-game mini-plan cooked up by the Athletic Department following SMU’s 40-33 win over rival TCU last Saturday. The “Special” allows fans to catch every minute of the four remaining home games for just $40.33 and see SMU battle UCF (10/15), Tulane (11/5), Navy (11/12) and Rice (11/26).
