SMU Closes Regular Season With Win Over UTEP

The SMU Mustangs finished the regular season with a 57-48 victory over UTEP on Senior Day. Before the game, SMU held a ceremony honoring seniors Rodney Clinkscales, Robert Nyakundi, and Aliaksei Patsevich.

SMU opened the game with a 25-7 run and never let UTEP in the game. It is the 23rd time this season that SMU has held its opponent to 65 points or less.

Robert Nyakundi led SMU with 14 points. Clinkscales scored a season-high 11.

Leslee Smith grabbed 9 rebounds for the Mustangs and had a career-high 4 assists.

SMU will play Wednesday in the first round of the C-USA tournament in Memphis, Tenn.
