SMU Falls To Ole Miss By A Basket

The visiting SMU Mustangs led the Ole Miss Rebels by two with under two minutes remaining, but the Rebels tied the game and took the lead with 28 seconds on the clock.  SMU had a chance to tie or regain the lead, but Robert Nyakundi’s 3-point shot failed at the buzzer.  Ole Miss gets the win 50-48.

Nyakundi led the Mustangs with 12 points, the 12th time this season he has scored in double digits.  Nyakundi also had 4 rebounds and 2 assists.

Jeremiah Samarrippas scored 10 points and had 6 assists.  London Giles and Shawn Williams each had 8 points for the Mustangs.  For the 4th time this season, Giles had 3 steals.

SMU made 8 3-point field goals, and leads C-USA with 116.

The Mustangs held Ole Miss to just 50 points, the 13th time in 14 games they have held the opponent to 65 points or less.
