SMU Loses To Cincinnati

The SMU Mustangs could not turn their season around Saturday as they fell to Cincinnati 41-3 before 16,849 fans at Ford Stadium.

Cincinnati set the pace on the opening kickoff with an 8-play, 60 yard drive resulting in a Rod Moore 2-yard TD run.

The Mustangs followed with a 16-play drive, but had to settle for a Cody Rademacher 29-yard field goal for their only score of the day.

Cincinnati broke the game open in the 2nd quarter, scoring 22 unanswered points.  SMU was never in the game after halftime.

Cincinnati quarterback Gunner Kiel completed 13 of 20 passes for 241 yards and a touchdown.  He has now thrown for 19 touchdowns in 6 games.  

Neither team had a 100-yard rusher or receiver.  Deion Sanders, Jr broke the century mark with 108 kick return yards for the Mustangs.

SMU falls to 0-6 for the season.  They will host conference foe Memphis on Saturday.
