SMU Men’s Swim Team Falls To Both Arizona And Texas

AUSTIN, Texas (SMU) – The SMU men’s swim team fell to both Arizona and Texas in simultaneous dual meets this weekend. Senior captain Tom Cole and sophomore Mindaugas Sadauskas once again turned in strong performances for the Mustangs.

Cole won the 200-yard breaststroke, clocking in with a time of 1:58.14. He then took third in the 100-yard breaststroke, touching the wall in 55.37.

Sadauskas earned top honors in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 20.12. The freestyle specialist then came in third in the 100-yard freestyle (44.32). Sadauskas also swam the third leg of the 400-yard freestyle relay squad that finished second (2:59.06).

In the 200-yard butterfly, junior Blaz Korosec picked up another win for the Mustangs, recording a time of 1:50.04.

Distance swimmer Mitchell Thomson claimed second in the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 15:23.45.

SMU has nearly one month off before competing in the Conference USA Championship in Houston Feb. 23-26.
