LOUISVILLE, Ky.  – The North Texas tennis team saw its four game winning streak snapped falling to Louisville, 5-2, Sunday afternoon at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.

“Louisville put us on the defense from the get go today,” head coach Sujay Lama said. “They are a very good indoor team and once they got rolling it was hard to play catch up.”

Louisville grabbed an early advantage after winning the doubles point.

“We did not play good doubles the past two days,” Lama added. “We have some cleaning up to do in that area in the next two weeks to get ready for conference.”

The Mean Green dropped singles matches at the No. 1, 2 and 3 positions to give the Cardinals the necessary four points to clinch the victory.

Franziska Sprinkmeyer defeated Louisville’s Stefanie Villajuan in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3, at the No. 4 position to put North Texas on the board. Agustina Valenzulea defeated Becky Bodine, 7-6 (8), at the No. 6 position.

The Mean Green returns to action this Tuesday when it travels to Arlington to face UTA at the UTA Tennis Center at 3 p.m.
