UNT’s Dinuta Named SBC Player Of The Week

DENTON, Texas – No. 64 Mean Green tennis received its third weekly honor when Paula Dinuta was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week.

The senior completed the week with a 2-0 record in singles play.

Dinuta claimed the only point in the Mean Green’s loss to No. 30 Tulsa when she defeated Bonny Davidson in straight sets, 7-5, 7-6.

Saturday she was part of the Mean Green onslaught over previously unbeaten Kansas, winning her match in straight sets again, 7-5, 6-2.

Dinuta has now won three matches in a row dating back to last weekend’s topple of defending conference champ, FIU.

The award marks the second for Dinuta, who also claimed the honor during her freshman season.

Three different members of the Mean Green have won the award this season.

North Texas tennis will be back in action today when it plays host to Denver at the Waranch Tennis Complex.
