DENTON, Texas – North Texas tennis senior Nadia Lee was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week on Wednesday for her efforts against No. 32 Arkansas and No. 53 Kansas State.

Lee, who has bounced back and forth between the No. 2 and No. 3 singles slots, came up with a 4-0 record for the weekend.

On Friday against the Razorbacks, Lee and teammate Franziska Sprinkmeyer were instrumental in the Mean Green capturing the doubles point as the duo defeated the Arkansas team, 8-5.

In Singles play, Lee jumped out early against Arkansas’ Kate Lukomskaya with a 6-1 first-set victory before eventually winning in three sets, 6-1, 4-6, 1-0 (6).

Lee and Sprinkmeyer captured the only doubles win on Saturday for North Texas with an 8-4 victory over Market Trousilova and Ana Gomez Aleman of No. 53 Kansas State.

The senior went on to clinch the comeback and the victory for the Mean Green in her singles match, downing Trousilova in three sets, 7-5, 5-7, 6-3.

North Texas will be back in action Thursday when it travels to No. 44 TCU.
