DENTON, Texas – Mean Green track & field junior Steven White was named the Sun Belt Conference Men’s Track Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.

White, who received the award last week as well, broke his own school record again on Saturday at the North Texas Spring Classic when he lowered his time in the 400-hurdles to a stunning 50.07 seconds. That time was good enough for the stadium record at historic Fouts Field as well.

The junior currently sits 10th in the world in the event, fourth in the NCAA and sixth in the country. He also still owns the top 200-meter time in the SBC and 27th best in the NCAA at 20.97.

This week marks the third straight week that a North Texas athlete has received an award, as Sara Dietz had also won two weeks in a row prior to this week.

Mean Green track & field will head north to the John Jacobs Invitational on Saturday, which will take place in Norman, Okla., on the campus of the University of Oklahoma.
