C-USA Announces Football Date Changes

Conference USA has announced date changes for an additional three football games this fall. All three date changes are to accommodate national television. Game times and networks will be announced at a later date.

The first game is conference contest between in-state rivals Rice and North Texas, the first meeting between the teams as conference foes. That game has been moved up two days and will now be played Thursday, October 31, in Denton, Texas.

Rice’s Conference USA contest at UAB has also changed dates from Saturday to Thursday. The Owls will now visit the Blazers on Thursday, November 21 at historic Legion Field in Birmingham.

The East Division matchup between East Carolina and Marshall has been moved up one day and will now be played the day after Thanksgiving on Friday, November 29, in Huntington, W. Va. Last year’s meeting between the teams produced the highest scoring game in C-USA history, as the Pirates won, 65-59 in double-overtime.

A preliminary 2013 C-USA television schedule, including networks and some game times is expected to be released in May.

C-USA’s 17th football season will begin on Thursday, August 29. The league’s ninth annual football championship game is scheduled for Saturday, December 7.
