Draw Is Out For Texas Tennis Open

The inaugural Texas Tennis Open begins this weekend with final qualifying rounds on Saturday and Sunday and first round matches beginning Sunday afternoon.  The draw for the WTA International event was held this afternoon at the Hilton DFW Lakes Hotel in Grapevine.

The 18th ranked player in the world, Dominika Cibulkova, was on hand to assist with the draw, held live for the media.  Cibulkova, the No. 2 seed, will open against Mirjana Lucic of Croatia.  The top-seed, Peng Shuai, of China, will open against American favorite, Melanie Oudin.

Other notable 1st round matches will be Julia Goerges (3) against Alize Cornet, Yanina Wickmayer (4) against Sofia Arvidsson and Sabine Lisicki (5) against Sania Mirza.

Qualifying matches begin at 11:00am Saturday.
