Frisco Loses To Midland

FRISCO, TEXAS – The Frisco RoughRiders dropped game two of their series 6-2 on Tuesday against the Midland RockHounds.

The RoughRiders (20-18) took the early lead in the first. Following a leadoff triple by Odubel Herrera, Brett Nicholas hit a sacrifice fly to left center, putting the ‘Riders up 1-0.

Following a leadoff single by Chad Oberacker, Midland (18-20) responded in the fourth. Oberacker stole second and then advanced to third on a single by D’Arby Myers. Anthony Aliotti knocked a sacrifice fly to bring home Oberacker and tie the game. Later in the frame, Midland took the 2-1 lead on a fly out by Jake Goebbert that scored Myers from third.

Frisco tied the game back up in the sixth with Nicholas’ tenth home run of the season to tie the game at 2.

The RockHounds reclaimed the lead in the seventh with a single home run by Jake Whitaker, putting the ‘Hounds up 3-2. A three-run home run by Goebbert in the ninth sealed the game for Midland, putting the RockHounds up 6-2.

Arnold Leon earned the victory, pitching seven innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits. Neil Ramirez (3-1) suffered his first defeat of the season, though he pitched seven innings, striking out 11, and allowing

3 runs on 3 hits. Jeff Urlaub was credited with his first save.

The RoughRiders continue their series with the Midland RockHounds on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Dr Pepper Ballpark.
