Mavs Lose To Clippers

The Dallas Mavericks suffered a 94-75 home loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday night at the American Airlines Center.  With the win, the Clippers snapped a 10-game losing streak against the Mavericks in Dallas. It was their first win against the Mavericks on the road since 4/19/06. Los Angeles took the 2011-12 season series with Dallas, 2-1. Los Angeles also won its sixth consecutive game on the season.

The Clippers outscored the Mavericks 20-12 in the paint, 10-0 in second-chance points and 9-2 in transition in the first half. Los Angeles finished the game with a 16-2 edge in fast-break points.

Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki went 7-of-14 from the floor en route to a team-high 19 points for Dallas on Monday. Twelve of his 19 came in the first half. He is averaging 25.2 points per game over his last 12 games.

Mavericks guard Jason Terry pitched in 15 points, three rebounds and four assists in 32 minutes off the Mavericks’ bench. He went 1-for-4 from beyond the arc and now has 1,759 career 3-pointers. He needs just one trey to tie Peja Stojakovic (1,760) for fifth place on the NBA’s all-time 3-point field goals made list.

Shawn Marion led the Mavericks with 9 rebounds.

Mavericks point guard Jason Kidd missed Monday’s game with a strained right groin. Delonte West made his 21st start of the season in place of the injured Kidd. Mavericks forward Lamar Odom was not with the team (illness).  The Mavericks are 0-7 without Odom in the lineup.

The Mavericks’ next game is vs. Memphis on April 4 at 7:30 p.m. CT
