Rangers Beat Mariners 9-2

The Texas Rangers have 5 starting pitchers with at least 10 wins each after a 9-2 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Monday night in Arlington.  Matt Harrison became the latest to get his 10th win with a 7-inning effort.  Harrison gave up just 2 runs on 5 hits while striking out 6.  It is the first time in Rangers history that all 5 members of the rotation had at least 10 wins.  Manager Ron Washington expressed his pride in the rotation,  “We’re very lucky in the fact that they have all stayed healthy. Those guys have taken the ball every time we’ve given it to them, pitched some great games and been very resilient. We just hope it continues.”

The Rangers belted out 15 runs against the Mariners pitchers.  Nelson Cruz led the way for Texas, going 3-for-4 including a solo home run in the second inning.  Rangers batters drew 7 walks in the game, a season-high for the Mariners.

Texas holds a 1 1/2 game lead over the Angels in the AL West and will host the Mariners again tonight at the Ballpark.
