SMU Downs TCU 64-61

The SMU Mustangs topped the TCU Horned Frogs 64-61 Thursday night in Fort Worth.  The Mustangs improve to 2-0 under head coach Larry Brown, their best start since 2006-2007.  SMU never trailed in the game while handing the Horned Frogs their first loss of the year.

Jalen Jones led the Mustangs with a career-high 21 points.  Ryan Manuel followed with 16 and Nick Russell with 12 points.

TCU lost forward Amric Fields with an apparent knee injury just 12 seconds into the game.  Garlan Green picked up the slack for the Frogs with 20 points.  TCU guard Jarvis Ray scored a career-high 14 points to keep the Horned Frogs close.

SMU stays on the road to take on Texas State on Saturday while TCU continues a 5-game homestand against Prairie View on Sunday.
