ORLANDO, FLA. – The SMU women’s soccer team advanced at the 2013 American Athletic Conference Championship Friday with a 3-0 win over Temple. The Mustangs will face UCF Sunday at 12 PM CT.

“I felt like we took care of business pretty well,” Mustang head coach Chris Petrucelli. “We got two in the first half and we were able to manage the game after that.”

Rikki Clarke made it a 2-0 lead for SMU at the 23:40 mark, after getting on board with an own goal at the 20:33 mark. Taylor Barg put the game away for good for the Mustangs with a goal at the 72:56 mark.

SMU dropped a 1-0 contest to UCF in Dallas earlier this week, so Sunday’s contest will be the second match-up between the teams in a week.

“I think UCF has proven they’re a very good team,” Petrucelli said. “They’ll have to beat the same team twice in a week, which will be tough. It should be a good game.”
