Stars lose to Rangers in shootout

The Dallas Stars went down in a shootout to the New York Rangers 3-2.  New York rookie Mats Zuccarello scored the winning goal as all three Dallas shooters failed to score.  Dallas has not won at home in their last five attempts.

Dallas took the lead in the first period on a wristshot by Brian Sutherby and then took a 2-1 lead into the third period after Mike Ribeiro scored a power play goal.  New York’s Artem Anisimov sent the game into overtime on a power play.

Dallas goalie Kari Lehtonen made 29 saves.

The Stars play again Sunday in Minnesota.
