Wilson Gives Rangers Win Over Astros

Rangers starting pitcher C.J. Wilson helped his own cause Tuesday night as Texas defeated Houston 7-3 at Minute Maid Park.  Wilson scored a run after getting his first career hit in the 3rd inning.  Wilson’s hit, a triple, sparked the Rangers to a 3-run inning which put Texas ahead for good.   “That’s the highlight of my baseball career,” Wilson said.

On the mound, Wilson went 7 innings, giving up 2 runs while striking out 3 for his 8th win of the season.  Neftali Feliz earned his 15th save of the year.

Josh Hamilton, Mitch Moreland, and Ian Kinsler each hit solo home runs for the Rangers.  Kinsler also added a triple in the 6th to give him 3 RBIs in the game.

The Rangers and Astros play again tonight with Colby Lewis on the mound for Texas.
