Stars Win In Nashville

The Dallas Stars defeated the Nashville Predators 5-2 Friday night in Nashville. The win keeps the Stars in the playoff hunt, just 2 points out of 8th place with 8 games to go. It is the 4th straight win for Dallas.
The Stars took an early lead when Erik Cole scored on a slap shot in the first period. Ray Whitney scored on a power play less than three minutes later, giving Dallas a 2-0 lead.
Nashville bounced back to bring the score 2-1 at the end of the first period.
The Stars controlled the 2nd, scoring two more goals and taking a 4-1 lead. Tom Wandell scored his first goal of the season and rookie Alex Chiasson scored his fourth.
Chiasson scored again in the 3rd period to put the Stars up 5-1 before Nashville ended the scoring with a wrist shot by Bobby Butler.
Goalie Richard Bachman made another start for the injured Kari Lehtonen. Bachman saved 26 of 28 shots, including 3 of 4 against the power play.
Dallas returns home to host the San Jose Sharks tonight at the American Airlines Center.
