TCU advances to College World Series

The TCU Horned Frogs advanced to the College World Series for the 1st time in school history.  The fifth-ranked Horned Frogs upset the second-ranked Texas Longhorns 4-1 to earn the trip to Omaha.

Starting pitcher Kyle Winkler allowed just 5 hits over 7 2/3 innings, striking out 6.  Tyler Lockwood earned the save, his 7th of the season.

Aaron Schultz and Bryan Holaday each homered for the Frogs to clinch the best-of-three series.

“Obviously it’s a historic day for TCU. When I came to TCU seven years ago this was the day I dreamt about. I couldn’t be more proud of our team, our program, our support staff, and everybody involved in our University” said TCU Head Coach Jim Schlossnagle.
