Astros Shut Out Rangers

The Houston Astros finally came to life Thursday night to defeat the visiting Texas Rangers 7-0.  The Rangers finish the in-state series with a 4-2 advantage over the Astros.

Texas could get nothing going offensively, scattering just 4 hits in the game, 2 of them by Elvis Andrus.  The Rangers hit into 3 double plays and did not get a hit with runners in scoring position.

Rangers starting pitcher Matt Harrison went 6 innings, giving up 5 runs as he dropped his 7th game, putting him below .500 for the season at 6-7.

The Rangers are clinging to a 1-game lead over the Angels in the AL West as they begin a 10-game homestand tonight against the Marlins.
