Carter Let Go By TCU

Highly regarded wide receiver Brandon Carter has played his final game for TCU.

The much troubled Carter’s name was not on the team’s official roster on Saturday, the day before players are scheduled to report for team meetings and physicals.

Carter compiled 90 catches for 1,312 yards and nine touchdowns in three seasons for the Horned Frogs. His best year was in 2012 when he made 36 receptions for 590 yards and six touchdowns.

In late April, Carter was arrested and charged with marijuana possession. The charges were eventually dropped.

Apparently, Carter is a casualty of academics. Last month at Big 12 Media Days, head coach Gary Patterson said, “Academically, he will not make it.”

Carter sat out spring practices to focus on his grades and that’s when he was arrested for marijuana possession.

Carter has one year of eligibility left.
